"The Salesman of Separation"

“The Salesman of Separation”

Panel 1: The Original Pitch

In the days of the Reform, when the hair was still dark,
Young Harper and Levant were fanning a spark.
“We’re just here to negotiate!” was the whisper they’d spread,
While dreaming of breaking the Maple instead.

Panel 2: The Double-Ended Wrench

With a wrench labeled “Crisis,” he works on the seam,
To loosen the bolts of a national dream.
Whether shouting for Quebec or for Alberta’s oil,
It’s the same clever hand causing national broil.

Panel 3: The Machine

Now look at The Machine, built on outrage and fear,
Where “Victim Narratives” turn a profit each year.
He feeds in the grievances, the anger, and Rebel cries,
And out comes the Data—the ultimate prize.

Panel 4: The Salesman

“Your country, my business!”
is the Salesman’s true creed,
Selling Breakup Kits tailored to satisfy greed.
It’s the same old product in a shiny new box,
As he picks at the nation’s foundational locks.
