The Bulwark and the Betrayal
In Eighteen-Seventy, the dream was begun,
Paid for by many, to be held by the one.
A National Project, from river to sea,
To keep the North Independent and free.
They built the railroads, they fenced in the plain,
To stop the “Expansion” from causing us pain.
Alberta was born as a shield for the whole,
A Bulwark in the West—that was her soul.
But now at the gates of a Florida shore,
The “Experts” are knocking and asking for more.
They’re offering Resources, Sovereignty, Oil,
To sell off the fruit of the homesteader’s toil.
For a Five-Hundred Billion dollar “deal” in a bag,
They’re ready to lower the Maple Leaf flag.
They’ll trade in the future for a Stetson and spree,
And hand over the “Shield” to the Land of the Free.
Don’t repay the Legacy by breaking the bond,
For a “51st State” and the chaos beyond.
Remember the Homesteads, the Farms, and the Schools,
And don’t let our country be broken by fools.
United we stand, as the Founders once planned,
To keep the “Expansion” away from our land.
One country, one future, one legacy to keep—
Don’t sell off the promise while the nation’s asleep!
