“The Herd’s Verdict”
The lawyer speaks from the prairie’s edge,
With a finger raised and a solemn pledge.
“The law is clear, the path is set,
A future that we haven’t met!”
He points to cases from days of old,
With a legal plan that’s brave and bold.
“If you doubt the way for this Great Divide,
Just check the facts on the other side!”
But the cows look on with a weary eye,
As the pumpjacks dip against the sky.
“He says to search and look it up,
But we’re just here to graze and sup.”
The black cow sighs, the brown one blinks,
Neither cares what the lawyer thinks.
“He’s talking ’bout Quebec and legal fits,
While we’re just dodging gopher pits.”
So if you’re seeking a brand new start,
With a legal map and a heavy heart,
Don’t ask the herd for their advice—
They think a field is paradise.
